5 months...

It's hard to believe that Calvin is already 5 months old.

Although it has been quite a roller coaster of a ride thus far, I want to focus this post on the developmental milestones he is thriving at in this stage.

Calvin is definitely on the move and does not want to stay still...EVER!  One of his favorite activities is hanging out in his exersaucer.  We like to call it his little laboratory because the look on his face is very intense and he usually cannot be bothered as he is exploring each toy (i.e. trying to put each thing in his mouth).  He is happiest when he is standing and he works his way around the entire "lab" multiple times.  It is so fun to watch him discover new things he is able to do with his favorite activity.

He likes to wind down in his mamaRoo chair, which was a splurge buy for us, but has been worth every penny.  It has five different motions (i.e. ocean wave, tree swing, car ride) with different speeds and sound effects.  He likes holding his "Mr. Monks" while looking outside as the birds fly by and the clouds roll through the sky.

When he wakes up, he is already smiling and ready to hang out.  He enjoys spending some time on our laps with the Boppy pillow as he gets his "num nums".  He loves gazing at his birdie and tree friends on the walls and looking around his nursery.  Of course, his favorite is laughing and smiling at us and he is highly distracted.

Another favorite activity is hanging out in his Bumbo chair as he is eager to sit up on his own.  He likes the access he has to his feet and the views he has in the sitting position.

And finally, he is a little guy on the move.  When put on the floor, he cannot be stopped.  He flips from his back to his tummy and back to his back again.  Barrel rolling is his new "fav" past time.  Not only does he do this when he is awake, but he is also exercising this skill as he sleeps with his new sleeping position being on his stomach each night.

We grow more in love with our little man each day!
